Formerly Matsushita Electric Industrial Co., Ltd, Panasonic was founded in Japan in 1918 and went on to become Japan's largest electronics producer. In 1961 Panasonic produced it first television and entered the flat panel market in 1999. Panasonic offers an excellent variety of LCD products. Their flat panel models are between 14-32" and rear projection televisions range from 43" to 60". Most of their LCDs are HDTV ready and can attach to any home electronics device including a PC. While their flat panels include a pedestal stand, their rear projection models don't come with a stand but will require a stand of some sort because they're similar in shape to a tube television - only lighter and narrower. | | Type | Public, TYO: 6752, NYSE: PC | | Founded | Osaka, Japan (1918) | | Headquarters | Kadoma, Osaka, Japan | | Key people | Konosuke Matsushita, Founder Kunio Nakamura, Chairman, Fumio Ohtsubo, President | | Industry | Consumer Electronics | | Products | AVC networks, Home appliances, Components and devices, digital cameras, others | | Revenue | ▲9,068,930 Million Yen (US$90.6 billion) (Fiscal year ended March 31, 2008)[1] | | Net income | ▼434,993 Million Yen (US$4.1 billion) (Fiscal year ended March 31, 2008) | | Employees | ▼328,645 (Consolidated, as of March 31, 2007) | | Website | Panasonic Global Site |
2008/2009 Panasonic LCD Models Panasonic LX85 Series Panasonic showed us their LX85 series LCDs at CEDIA this year. The TC-26LX85 and TC-32LX85 are 720p panels with a 10000:1 dynamic contrast ratio. We impressed by the extremely wide view angle of these LCDs. The normal contrast lost at wider angles we see on LCDs was not present on these. anasonic TC-26LX85, Panasonic TC-32LX85 Panasonic TC-37LZ800 Panasonic's top of the line 1080p LCD for 2008/2009 is the TC-37LZ800.
